Performance and Efficiency
A true marvel of technology, the BMW X3 xDrive 30e is a plug-in hybrid crossover utilizing both an electric motor and a gasoline engine to power all four wheels. The unique powertrain comes in the way of a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine along with a 12-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 109-horsepower electric motor that sits between the engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission. This unique set-up produces 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque and can provide the 2022 BMW X3 xDrive 30e with up to 28km of pure electric range. The battery can charge in three and a half hours at a level 2 charging station or 11.5 hours using a 120- volt outlet. Natural Resources Canada Fuel Economy numbers are rated at 11L/100km city and 8.6L/100km highway.
