To distinguish the XB7, the base engine which they both share, a 4.4 litre twin-turbocharged V8 adds larger twin-scroll turbochargers, improved cooling, and an exhaust system that allows air to flow freely. These specific modifications help increase output to 612 horsepower. As an automotive enthusiast, that number seems amazing; however, Alpina's engineers are far more proud of the 590 pound-feet of torque they derived from this engine. The best part is that this torque is available between 2000 RPM two 5000 RPM. The Alpina XB7 Claims a zero to 100 km/h time of approximately 4 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 180 mph, and the optional Pirelli P Zero summer tires meet the needs. This powerful engine is bolted to a ZF 8 speed automatic transmission with awesome Tronic paddle shifters. The transmission was specifically designed to handle this vehicle's high torque and is equipped with an aluminum transmission oil sump and a larger transmission oil cooler.
